Substance Abuse is not a problem that simply goes away. If you have a loved one with substance abuse issues, acceptance that you are going to have to figure out how to be the person you need to be in order to best support and help them is going to be crucial for you. You can hate the fact that this is part of your life journey too, you can resist it, you can throw temper tantrums about it, you can live in denial about it all you want, but it won't change the fact that this is a problem you are going to have to face and deal with head on. You have your work to do too, and whereas the problem for you isn't substance abuse, it doesn't mean you don't have a problem that you have to solve for yourself. It's time to get help.
